About this piece

Turn kitchen scraps and yard waste into valuable compost with the AeroQuick Compost Bin, a heavy-duty outdoor composter built for years of home composting. Available in 77-gallon and extra-large 187-gallon sizes, the AeroQuick features substantial 5 mm walls and a unique ventilation design that encourages continuous airflow along all four sides. A locking lid helps keep the bin securely closed, while two lower access doors make it easier to remove finished compost for your garden.

Features & care

The AeroQuick Compost Bin combines heavy-duty construction with a smart airflow system designed to support efficient home composting. Unlike basic thin-walled compost bins, the AeroQuick uses substantial 5 mm polypropylene copolymer panels built for long-term outdoor use.

A unique wall design encourages air to move continuously upward along all four sides of the compost bin. This airflow helps create the aerated environment needed for the natural composting process. It also reduces the need for the frequent manual turning associated with a traditional compost pile.

The open-bottom design places composting materials in direct contact with the ground. This allows beneficial microorganisms and worms from the soil to reach the organic material inside and assist with decomposition.

A hinged lid provides convenient access from above and features a sliding lock to help keep the compost bin closed. When your compost is ready, two lower access doors let you reach finished material without emptying the entire bin.

Choose between two sizes based on your household and garden. The compact 77-gallon AeroQuick is an excellent choice for a one- or two-person household, smaller yard, or gardener with moderate amounts of kitchen and garden waste. The substantial 187-gallon AeroQuick provides more than twice the composting capacity for larger households, vegetable gardens, raised bed gardening, and properties that generate larger amounts of leaves, grass clippings, and other compostable yard waste.

The 187-gallon model also includes a base grid. The grid helps deter rodents while maintaining access between the composting material and the soil below. The 77-gallon model maintains its open-bottom design, and a compatible grid can be purchased separately if additional protection is desired.

Made in Austria by JUWEL, the AeroQuick uses UV-stabilized material designed to withstand prolonged outdoor exposure. Whether you're learning how to compost or need a large compost bin for an established garden, the AeroQuick provides a durable solution for turning everyday organic waste into useful compost.

Your questions, answered

What is the difference between the AeroQuick 77 and AeroQuick 187?

The primary difference is capacity. The AeroQuick 77 holds 77 gallons and works especially well for smaller households and yards. The AeroQuick 187 holds 187 gallons and provides significantly more room for households and gardens that generate larger quantities of compostable material. The 187 also includes a base grid.

How does the AeroQuick compost bin get airflow?

The AeroQuick uses specially designed wall panels that encourage continuous upward airflow along all four sides. This ventilation helps provide oxygen to the composting material inside.

Why does the compost bin have an open bottom?

Direct contact with the ground allows microorganisms and worms from the soil to reach the organic material and assist with the composting process.

Do I need to turn the compost?

Turning isn't strictly required, although occasionally mixing the contents can speed decomposition and promote more even breakdown. The AeroQuick's wall design provides continuous ventilation to support the composting process.

How do I remove finished compost?

Two doors near the bottom of the AeroQuick provide access to mature compost without requiring you to empty the entire bin.

Does the AeroQuick 187 include a base grid?

Yes. The 187-gallon AeroQuick includes a soil grid at the base to help deter rodents while still allowing access from the soil below. A compatible grid is optional for the 77-gallon model.

Is the AeroQuick good for composting kitchen and yard waste?

Yes. The large capacity makes it useful for combining appropriate kitchen scraps with leaves, garden waste, grass clippings, and other suitable green and brown composting materials.

Which AeroQuick size should I choose?

The 77-gallon model is a practical compost bin for a smaller household or yard. Choose the 187-gallon model if you have a larger household, vegetable garden, substantial landscaping, or regularly generate larger volumes of compostable yard waste.
